Keeping Field Guns In the Field

This J. C. Higgins Model 20 12ga was out of commission due to the breakage of two small wings on the “pot metal” firing group housing that prohibited its normal cycle function. A little thought on the design and function produced a solution. Now this “oldie but goodie” is back in the field.

Not Giving Up On Your Old Wood Stock

This rifle stock was originally mated to a .240 Weatherby Magnum and was hunted hard with. Eventually the Stock split from the magazine cutout down through the pistol grip and into the cheek area. The owner wanted to use it on a different barreled action. Some wood glue, epoxy, and a couple cross recoil dowels and the stock was saved.

Factory to Fancy

One does not have to spend money on brand name productions and on the things they tell you to in order to have a customized designated range piece. There are great budget firearms and accessories that will give the shooting enthusiasts solid, repeatable, and enjoyable performances. In the 1911 world it is not difficult to go from GI to Customize.
